Alejairén Crianza is proof that it is possible to find whites with personality in the heart of La Mancha. Made entirely from Airén grapes and aged for two years in barrels, it is aromatically intense, with mineral and spicy hints and a rich, dense, unctuous and long finish.
InLa Mancha , an area more associated with high levels of daily wine production, Alejandro Fernandez has implemented a different approach, offering high quality. An exhaustive search on the ground allowed the acquisition of old Tempranillo vines that are required to make wines of limited production, and with a modern winery that emerged from a characteristic and typical building. The name comes from an old winery belonging to his parents and pays homage to the winemaking tradition of the familia.Rodeado of mountains that protect them from heavy rains, the vineyards are planted on flat land that can suffer all the vagaries of an extreme continental climate, subject to cold, freezing winters that turn dramatically into hot, dry summers. The old vines selected for this project had already demonstrated their ability to withstand such harsh climatic conditions. With the 1999 vintage, the first El Vinculo wine was released in December 2001 and already exhibited the usual Alejandro Fernandez characterafter a long time in oak followed by a good long rest in bottle: powerful, concentrated and complex, with abundant fruit variety, full intensity on the palate. Consistency and constancy are an integral part of this winemaker's winning formula.El Vínculo is part of the Pesquera Group , which also includes Dehesa La Granja (Castilla-León), Condado de Haza (Ribera del Duero) and Tinto Pesquera (Ribera del Duero).Alejairén Crianza is proof that finding whites with personality in the heart of La Mancha is possible.
