Arienzo Crianza is a red wine from the Rioja Designation of Origin, one of the star wines of the winery.
Talking about Marqués de Riscal winery means talking about prestige, innovation, nonconformity, and quality. These values have always been presented together since its foundation in 1858.
Elaboration and aging
Arienzo Crianza is made almost exclusively from the Tempranillo variety (90%), to which small percentages of the Graciano (5%) and Mazuelo (5%) varieties are added as a complement. As for its elaboration, traditional vinification is carried out. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
After the fermentation processes are completed, Arienzo Crianza undergoes about 18 months of aging in American oak barrels. Finally, after bottling, this red wine will spend an additional 12 months aging in the bottle.
Tasting notes of Arienzo Crianza
- Appearance: Arienzo Crianza has a cherry red color with garnet undertones.
- Nose: Aromas of wood, coconut, and vanilla.
- Palate: On the palate, it follows that alcohol but gives the sensation of higher alcohol content. Smooth entry, somewhat sweet, maintains a certain acidity. The tannins are balanced. Red fruit with some spices. Short finish.
Pairing
Arienzo Crianza is ideal for accompanying grilled white and red meats, blue fish such as swordfish, and aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve this red wine at a temperature between 16-18ºC.
