Astaxanthin is a very powerful natural antioxidant found in various living organisms. It is mainly produced by the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis to protect cells from the sun and UV radiation. This orange pigment, a carotenoid belonging to the xanthophyll class, is present in fish such as salmon and crustaceans due to their diet based on zooplankton, an organism that accumulates it while feeding. In fact, zooplankton feeds on this microalga, responsible for the characteristic red-orange coloration of fish. There are also other natural sources of astaxanthin, such as yeast and crustacean byproducts (like the well-known Antarctic krill), but microalgae are the most effective and rich source of this antioxidant.
For the production of Astaxanthin AstaZine®, the certified and 100% natural raw material AstaZine® has been chosen: astaxanthin obtained through synthetic processes is not as effective as natural astaxanthin and may cause some discomfort after consumption. In contrast, natural astaxanthin, like that contained in AstaZine®, comes entirely from microalgae, has no contraindications, does not contain iodine, and is highly bioavailable. The functionality of AstaZine® has been evaluated in more than 50 human studies (with over 1400 participants), demonstrating to be effective, safe, and well tolerated.
- 4 mg of pure astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis per capsule;
- Powerful natural antioxidant action;
- 6000 times more potent than vitamin C in counteracting free radicals;
