Elaboration and aging

Azpilicueta Crianza is made from Tempranillo (85%), Graciano (10%), and Mazuelo (5%) grape varieties. For its elaboration, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25ºC, after which it macerates for about 12 days.

After the vinification process, Azpilicueta Crianza undergoes aging for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by another 6 months of bottle aging to complete its refinement.

Tasting Notes of Azpilicueta Crianza

• Appearance: Azpilicueta Crianza has a cherry red color, of good intensity, lively with golden highlights. Clean and bright.
• Nose: The nose is perfumed, with notes of fruit standing out, over a background of toasted wood and subtle aromas of vanilla, coconut, and spices.
• Palate: Fresh, smooth with classic Rioja flavors.

Pairing

Azpilicueta Crianza is ideal to accompany cured meats, rice dishes, vegetables, mushrooms, and white and red meats. It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 17 and 18ºC.
