Carotenes are found specifically in vegetables and fruits, and beta-carotene in orange or dark green fruits. Some are precursors of vitamin A. Solgar Beta-Carotene provides one of the best natural forms of beta-carotene from a marine algae, Dunaliella salina, which is a green microalgae that lives in marine salt marshes. It also contains other carotenoids.
