It is the soul of our winery and the faithful reflection of the essence of our estate. Made from the four red varieties that make up our vineyard, it combines in perfect balance the power of Tempranillo, the aromatic intensity of Syrah, the longevity of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the elegance of Merlot.
Our vocation is to bottle the essence of a "terroir", which, due to its extraordinary location, altitude, climate, soil, and subsoil, make Finca Río Negro a wine with a unique personality, perfectly recognizable.
From September 25th to October 18th.
3.68/5 G/L Tartaric Acid.
Tasting Note
Color Clean and bright, cherry red with violet hues, with a high color intensity.
Olfactory phase Intense, deep, and complex aroma with a predominance of blackberry-type fruits, well intertwined with the notes of different types of oak. Mineral and balsamic undertones.
Gustatory phase Powerful yet elegant, with body, freshness, and great persistence.
Vintage Characteristics
A total of 530 liters/m2 were harvested between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2020. The rainfall was mainly concentrated in the spring, with no significant rain recorded in August or in the days leading up to the harvest, which could dilute the power or affect the fruit's health.
Temperatures in the summer were warm, but with few heatwaves. A milder second half of August and a September month cooler than usual allowed the grapes to have higher acidity levels than in previous years, with better and more balanced phenolic ripeness.
