César Márquez Pico Ferreira 2023 is a single-vineyard red wine made primarily with Mencía grapes from old vines located in one of the highest and coolest areas of Bierzo, the Pico Ferreira area.

This privileged location, with clayey-calcareous soils and a marked Atlantic character, gives the wine a unique personality, where freshness, minerality, and elegance blend perfectly.

With spontaneous fermentation and aging in used barrels, Pico Ferreira 2023 is one of César Márquez's most personal creations, conceived to express the purity of the terroir without any embellishment, while respecting the variety and the environment to the fullest.

Bright cherry red color, medium depth, and violet edges. Clean and bright, with great liveliness.

Elegant and complex aromas dominated by fresh red fruits (cherry, currant, raspberry), floral notes (violets, lavender), and a very pronounced mineral background, with hints of limestone and damp earth. Light spicy and balsamic notes complete a fine and attractive aromatic profile.

The palate is subtle, fresh, and precise, with vibrant acidity that provides tension and balance. Polished and well-integrated tannins support a delicate structure without losing depth. The finish is long and persistent, where the fruit, flowers, and limestone minerality blend in perfect harmony.
