Chocolate with toasted almond with salt Eco Regenerative. The almonds are of the Largueta variety, from a soil and landscape restoration project located in southeastern Spain, grown in dryland farming.
Toast with a touch of salt, the traditional almond variety in our territory, the Largueta, couldn't be more delicious. With its thick skin, the toasting slightly separates it from the pit and with a simple gesture of holding it between your thumb and index finger, and moving them slightly, the skin comes off.
Collected in the farms of our farmers in the Steppe Plateau, located in the north of Granada, Almería, and Northwest Murcia, these almonds go through their normal shelling process and after this, a toasting process in an artisanal way.
Through a thorough inspection, we manage to discard any bitter almonds that may be received from the farms, so we keep the percentage within the lowest on the market and you can enjoy sweet almonds without a bitter taste.
Our regenerative organic almonds contain, among other vitamins and minerals, an abundance of vitamin E compared to other non-organic and even organic but non-regenerative almond oils. Among the benefits of Vitamin E, we can find:
- Great power to combat the appearance and development of cancer cells.
- Reduces the risk of thrombosis and cardiovascular diseases due to its anticoagulant action.
- Delays aging.
- Improves the health of our eyes.
- Participates in the formation of red blood cells.
- Reduces chronic inflammation.
- Keeps hair, skin, and nails healthy and strong.
- Prevents Parkinson's.
- Improves healing.
- Prevents dementia and cognitive decline.
- Promotes the proper functioning of the nervous system.
- Improves memory and learning.
- Contributes to good muscle function and improves performance and recovery after physical activity.
These regenerative organic almonds come from the Soil and Landscape Restoration project supported by the Alvelal Association and the Commonland Foundation. Hence their "regenerative" surname, which is due to the special practices with which the crops are cared for, making them stand out from the rest and reflected in the quality and taste of the final product. Therefore, we believe it is important that this is reflected in their denomination.
Our farmers were already within the frameworks of organic agriculture and for some years now, since 2016, they have been adding knowledge acquired through training and supervision from the Alvelal Association in regenerative practices. The farmers who formed the Almendrehesa society relied on this differential base of applying regenerative practices in their daily lives and thus produce not only organic almonds but regenerative organic almonds for soil and landscape.
These practices implemented through the 4returns operational group are ensuring a fertile future for the next generations, aiming to maintain soil nutrients and generate biodiversity for a unique ecosystem native to the area. The applied practices include:
- Creating ground cover with native species chosen specifically to support that particular soil and its characteristics, within the framework of the ecosystem in which it is found.
- Oasis creation through the construction of natural basins for collecting rainwater.
- Whale creation to capture water near trees and retain it.
- Minimal plowing.
- Planting windbreak hedges to attract pollinators.
- Planting aromatic herbs.
- Inclusion of bee panels.
- Inclusion of extensive livestock on the farms.
- Inclusion of green manure, pruning crushing, and addition to the soil.
- Creation of infiltration ditches.
- And more.
