Viña Garugele is a vineyard planted in 1940, personally selected by Carlos Moro to produce an excellent Rioja wine. The winemaking process is very well thought out and aimed at preserving and highlighting the differential characteristics of the vineyard. It all begins in the vineyard, where the grapes are harvested by hand in boxes, after a double selection, first by cluster and then berry by berry. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts to respect the typical characteristics and the Serrano terroir itself. The wine is aged in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels with soft toast to accompany the fruity characteristics of the Tempranillo grape. Finally, a long rest in bottle is essential to tame its lively, elegant and noble tannins. The wine made from these unique grapes has a lively and intense layer of color, with aromas of fine black fruits and pronounced siliceous minerality from the Garugele terroir. It has a fine tannin mouthfeel with great length and freshness. Elegance and personality, with certain more Atlantic characteristics. The characteristics of a Serrano terroir are expressed to perfection in this exclusive red wine of the Tempranillo variety. Hints of fine black fruits of the forest, siliceous touches due to the composition of its soil, freshness typical of the northern orientation of the vineyard.Vineyard:Garugele (recognized as a SINGULAR VINEYARD by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. ) is an old goblet-trained vineyard whose age dates back to the middle of the last century. The time of planting, the year 1940, indicates traditional Tempranillo clones of the area. This is an area of lifelong viticulture in the extreme northeast of the Rioja Alta and of the vineyards located at a higher altitude, around 500 meters above sea level. Its small surface area and low yields mean limited production.
