Unlike the almost neighboring Ribera del Duero, the area of Toro maintains an important mass of old vineyards that gives it a strong character. The Tinta de Toro used in the production of Dehesa Gago comes entirely from the traditional viticulture carried out by 8 families of winegrowers with whom Telmo Rodriguez has agreements since 1998. The Teso Hierro, Los Costares and Pago Quemaos vineyards in the villages of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales converge in this red wine.
