Comenge Winery and Vineyards is one of the most prestigious wineries in recent years in the Ribera del Duero region.
Production and Aging
The Comenge Reserva 2016 wine is made from the 15 plots owned by the winery in the municipal areas of Curiel de Duero and Pesquera, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, all of them cultivated under good practices of organic viticulture. The heterogeneity of soils and orientations on which our vineyards are located allows us to reflect in the wine the unique character of each vintage.
After a careful selection of clusters and grapes, the wine is aged in French oak barrels (85%) and American oak barrels (15%) for between 12 and 14 months.
Tasting Notes for Familia Comenge Reserva 2016
Appearance: Familia Comenge Reserva 2015 has a cherry red color with garnet reflections.
Nose: Aromas of licorice, ripe red fruit, fennel, aromatic herbs, and balsamic sensations.
Palate: Taste of ripe red fruit but also vanilla, caramel, and licorice, adding complexity to the whole. Long and silky finish.
Pairing
Familia Comenge Reserva is perfect to accompany red meats, game dishes, charcuterie, and aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 16-18°C.
