Gin Fifty Pounds is a super premium London Dry type gin, originating from southeast London.
Gin Fifty Pounds is a "superpremium" gin that has come to light after its recipe remained hidden and unpublished for several generations in a family of London distillers. It owes its name to the tax that King George II imposed in 1736 on gin distillers in order to reduce consumption, which had the opposite effect. The botanicals used are juniper, grains of paradise, orange, lemon, coriander, licorice, angelica, savory, and three secret ingredients.
Appearance: Gin Fifty Pounds has a transparent and clean color.
Nose: Botanical notes along with alcohol.
Palate: Smooth on the palate, with good harmony between the alcohol and the botanicals, and above all, balanced, with no single component standing out.
