Gin Fifty Pounds is a super premium London Dry gin, originating from the southeast of London.
Gin Fifty Pounds is a "superpremium" gin that has come to light after its recipe has remained hidden and unpublished for several generations of a London distilling family. It owes its name to the tax that King George II imposed in 1736 on gin distillers in order to reduce consumption, and which achieved the opposite effect. The botanicals used are juniper, grains of paradise, orange, lemon, coriander, licorice, angelica, sage, and three secret components.
Appearance: Gin Fifty Pounds has a transparent and clean color.
Nose: Botanical notes along with alcohol.
Palate: Smooth on the palate, with good harmony between the alcohol and botanicals, and above all balanced, not heavily scented, without any of its components standing out.
