The Drunken Horse was born from the idea of three friends, Benoît, Tom, and Pieter-Jan, who connected and designed a microdistillery in Belgium, near Antwerp, called Gentleman's Craft
This gin has a citrus orientation, with pink grapefruit peel, lime, and lemongrass. It is a smooth and tasty citrus gin, but to achieve more depth, more flavor, more complexity, on the slopes of the Himalayas, on the Nepalese side, they introduce a pepper that changes the gin, the timut pepper which has hints of grapefruit, passion fruit, and jasmine. According to Benoît, Tom, and Pieter-Jan, the timut pepper was perfect for the gin, as two other peppers are added, resulting in a gin with 12 botanicals. In addition, The Drunken Horse gin has a touch of the Himalayas.
The Drunken Horse Gin is a London Dry Gin made in the aforementioned microdistillery called Gentlemen's Craft. The London Dry style dry gin is characterized by being a classic, dry, juniper-forward style of gin that emerged in the late 1800s and remains the most popular style in the world.
The Drunken Horse Gin has 3 flavor waves. The first wave is citrus, which is made with freshly peeled grapefruit, lime, and lemongrass. The second wave is earthy, giving a smooth sensation on the center of the tongue thanks to cardamom and coriander. And lastly, the third wave, which is spicy, this wave is spicy thanks to a collection of 3 peppers of which the Nepalese timut pepper is the most prominent.
It is also important to mention that thanks to this rare pepper having citrus notes, the third wave will take you back to the first citrus wave. It is correct to say that The Drunken Horse Gin is a cycle of unique citrus flavors.
The elegance of this distilled spirit, within reach of the most exquisite palates in the world, an experience appreciated in the best Michelin restaurants in Europe.
