The 2017 Vatán Arena is a cult red wine from the Toro Denomination of Origin, made by Bodegas Jorge Ordóñez and considered one of the most exclusive expressions of the region. It comes from the historic Finca Los Quemados, located in Vallaester de Abajo (province of Zamora), where the Tinta de Toro vines were planted in 1900 on ungrafted foot on very sandy soils of alluvial origin, with a layer of red clay in the subsoil, which allowed these vines to survive phylloxera and become one of the oldest and most unique vineyards in Spain.
