The Whisky Jura Seven Wood is part of the Signature Series range of the Isle of Jura Distillery. It is produced with a blend of smoked and unsmoked spirit and is made in exceptionally tall stills.
The ability to reimagine and reinvent has allowed Isle of Jura Distillery and its working community to thrive. This vision has materialized in this complexmalt whiskey, which has been molded from seven different oak woods: first-fill American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and French Vosges, Bertranges, Jupilles, Allier, Tronçais and Limousin oak barrels.
The Isle of Jura Distilleryis located on a remote island off the west coast of Scotland(Jura), a difficult place to build a distillery, made up of wild mountains and stormy seas.
Founded in 1810, the distillery collapsed in the late 19th century and became ruins. Despite this, the tenacious spirit of the islanders was preserved and was the driving force behind the reconstruction that took place in 1963.
The importance of the distillery is easy to see: it is the beating heart of the island community, just as whiskey is its essence. A source of pride and prosperity for generations to come.
Jura whiskies are more than water, barley and yeast. In every bottle is a little bit of the island community and their passion for whisky. Jura's journey of making its products begins in the island's highest mountains, the Paps of Jura, which filter the water down to Loch Market. It is this water that marks the making of the distillery and helps shape its single malt whisky.
