La Grange des Pères Rouge is a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Counoise. The use of Cabernet Sauvignon does not allow it to be classified under the AOC Languedoc, so it is under the IGP Pays de l'Hérault classification. The grape varieties are vinified separately and aged in 228-liter barrels for 24 months.
The barrels are then assembled and the wine is placed in vats for a few months before bottling.
Since its first vintage in 1992, it seduced with a completely different style. The vineyards are located between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, in the Arboussas massif. The atypical blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Counoise, forced him to make his wine under the "vin de pays" appellation. This cuvée has an intense and very expressive nose, with flavors of stewed red and black fruits, garrigue and spices. The palate is immediately powerful, frank, full-bodied, balanced, dense and persistent. Blind, it is easy to be carried away by this wine from the Northern Rhône Valley.
