Also known as the "King of Mushrooms", Maitake is considered an adaptogenic tonic, useful for rebalancing the body's functions, increasing vitality and boosting immune response. A series of studies have highlighted the importance of Maitake in the treatment of metabolic problems.

The numerous studies conducted since the 1980s have shown that the polysaccharides contained in Maitake have a particular and unique structure that makes them very potent even when administered orally. Among the various fractions of isolated polysaccharides, the efficacy of fraction D and fraction X was evaluated: the first was particularly effective in the immune system, the second at the metabolic level. More recent studies and observations have shown that the whole mushroom (mycelium and fruiting body) is more effective than the extract at the metabolic level and can be useful for controlling weight gain and rebalancing the lipid profile, while supporting liver function.
