Production and Aging
Marqués de Murrieta Reserva is a blend of grapes from the Tempranillo (90%), Garnacha tinta (3%), Mazuelo (4%), and Graciano (4%) varieties. As for the production process, after gently destemming and crushing the clusters, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, they undergo maceration for 8 days. Once the fermentation process is complete, the solid parts of the grape are pressed in vertical presses to extract more color and mature tannins from the skins.
Finally, Marqués de Murrieta Reserva ages for 17 months in American oak barrels and 24 months in bottle.
