Marques de riscal reserve is a red wine of the denomination of Origin Rioja elaborated by Herederos del Marqués de Riscal. The reserves of Marqués de Riscal are basically made from grapes from Tempranillo vines planted before the years 70, located in the best calcareous clay soils of the Rioja Alavesa. This variety supports well the ageing in wood and the aging in bottle thanks to its good acid balance and its fine tannins.
Marques de riscal reserve is very covered, intense cherry colour with hardly any signs of evolution.
The nose is very expressive with notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper, where the long ageing in wood is barely noticeable, thanks to its great complexity and concentration of ripe fruit.
In the mouth it is fresh, with very nice polished tannins, with good structure but easy to drink. The end of the mouth is long and leaves mild balsamic memories of great quality.
