The Wine cycle
Myrtle of Ramón Bilbao is a red wine of the denomination of Origin Rioja elaborated by Bodegas Ramón Bilbao.
The wine-growing cycle, was of high quality. Spring was cold and caused a slowing of the vegetative cycle compared to an average year. The summer was warm and low rainfall, generating a vintage of optimal level of maturation and health status, which has resulted in one of the excellent crops of Rioja.
Careful selection of old vineyard plots with strains of more than 70 years in crop boundary zones (Haro, Ollauri, Gimileo, Cihuri, Villalba and Cuzcurrita) harvested from the first week of October.
Myrtle of Ramón Bilbao is of deep cherry red colour with garnet edging. Intense in aromas; Mainly ripe black fruit (blackberries and plums); Balsamic touches, spices (black pepper) and tertiary aromas of coffee and tobacco, resulting in a very complex nose. On the palate it is unctuous and kind, with elegant astringency from the ripe tannins of the grape. Again there are memories of red fruit, spices and balsamics. The end is pleasant, expressive and varietal.
