Elaboration and aging

Muga Reserva Selección Especial is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo, 3% Graciano varieties. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in oak tanks. Aging for 26 months in barrels made from selected oaks in our cooperage. Prior to bottling, it undergoes clarification with fresh egg white.

Once in the bottle, it will undergo a refining process for at least twelve months in our cellar.

Tasting Notes for Muga Reserva Selección Especial

• Appearance: Muga Reserva Selección Especial has a high and uniform layer color with purple iridescence at the rim of the glass, without the slightest sign of oxidation.
• Nose: It retains the character that defines this vintage: fruits in the stage just before maturity dominant, accompanied by liquor-like perceptions that are only found in this wine compared to the rest of the range of this vintage. Tertiary aromas appear in the form of some leather and very subtle notes of clove and underbrush.
• Palate: Almost chewable fruit, sweet and silky tannins, gentle acidity, and endless mineral notes. The synergy of these sensations creates a very powerful impact on the taster.

Pairing

Muga Reserva Selección Especial is ideal to accompany white meats, roasted lamb, roasted pork, peppered entrecote, meat stews, and wild mushrooms. Serving temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
