Oro del Desierto Edición Limitada Origen 500ml is a unique and exclusive extra virgin olive oil, made from the native "Picual de Almería" variety, an almost extinct jewel recovered in the Tabernas Desert. This variety, ancestral and deeply rooted in the province, offers a unique sensory profile and a complexity that distinguishes it from any other.
The Origen series is born from Oro del Desierto's commitment to innovation and the preservation of traditional varieties. "Picual de Almería" is characterised by its very late ripening, reaching veraison with 70% green fruit during the first weeks of December. Its production is extremely limited, as it is only grown in small mountainous areas of Almería, one of them being the Desierto de Tabernas.
The olives are harvested by hand on a farm located at 850 metres above sea level and are immediately transferred to the mill for pressing on the same day, thus guaranteeing maximum freshness and quality. A minimum production is obtained from this small estate, bottled exclusively in 500 ml format as a limited edition.
On the nose it has a great aromatic complexity , with notes of freshly cut grass, green fruits and hints of almond. On the palate, its balance and harmony stand out, with a mild bitterness and spiciness and an elegant and persistent finish.
This limited edition "Origen" not only represents an OOVE of the highest quality , but also an effort to rescue an ancestral variety that has practically disappeared. A true rarity that reflects the essence of the olive grove of Almeria and the innovative spirit of Oro del Desierto
