Pago la Jara is a red wine produced by the winery Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez in the D.O. Toro

Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez was born from the union of two winemakers, Pablo Eguzkiza and Telmo Rodríguez, with extensive experience in Bordeaux and La Rioja.

This "company" produces wines from different Spanish appellations (Malaga, Alicante, Rioja, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, Toro...). In all the areas where it produces wine, the winery always tries to use native varieties from each region

The grapes of Pago la Jara come from the villages of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales, from 5 plots that form 4 hectares of vineyards belonging to 3 families of suppliers who work traditional viticulture reasoned with the company since 1998, with plantations of Tinta de Toro in glass, cultivated on deep and well-drained soils of gravel and variable texture. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in 3000 kg oak vats and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels of different origins. 70% new, 20% single-vineyard and 10% in 1500 litre foudre
