Ramón Bilbao Garnacha is a red wine made from Garnacha by the Ramón Bilbao winery in the DOCa. Rioja.
Choice of vineyards in Rioja Oriental, located in different municipalities such as Tudelilla, Grávalos and Arnedo, as well as in Monte Yerga. The Garnacha vines are grown on low trellises, with a spacing of 2.60 x 1.20 metres, on alluvial soils with limestone content.
These vineyards, located at an altitude of 600 metres and with an east-west orientation, are harvested by hand with a careful selection of the highest quality clusters.
Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks at low temperatures, with gentle pumping over to ensure a delicate extraction that enhances varietal expression. The wine is aged for 12 months in second and third use French oak barrels, preserving the elegant fruit of the Grenache. Subsequently, it is blended and refined in concrete tanks for a further 6 months before bottling.
Garnacha Edición Limitada stands out for its delicacy, focusing on highlighting the primary fruit with a very subdued oak influence. The altitude and location of the vineyards provide freshness and a distinctive Mediterranean character.
This wine has a very expressive colour, revealing in its bouquet the predominant presence of red fruits. Its flavour is smooth and velvety, with balanced and enveloping tannins.
