Aphrodisiaque Almázcara Majara red wine: the wine for young people.
This line of wines was created for young people to get into quality wine. And so was born L’Aphrodisiaque, a family of young wines with what they believed young people wanted, seeking experiences and not specific products.

Technical Sheet

Winery: Own Vineyards, Ponferrada (El Bierzo). Manual harvest.
Appellation: El Bierzo
Alcohol content: 13%
Variety: 100% Mencía
Tasting notes: Red color, with garnet hues, clean and bright. Intense, clean nose, with aromas of fresh fruit, strawberries, and cherries. Round and fresh on the palate, with gentle tannins, balanced, with good structure, and great persistence on the finish with a fine and elegant aftertaste.
Serving temperature: 16ºC
Elaboration: It is made with a single varietal of Mencía from their vineyard located in Los Barrios, a wine-growing area in El Bierzo with different characteristics from other areas of the region, so their wines are also different, although they are representative of a part of their terroir. Coming from alluvial soils, their vines of between 80 and 120 years old are bathed by a continental Mediterranean climate which, together with an average altitude of 550 meters, gives the wine a marked aromatic character.
Pairing: at Made in Spain Gourmet we recommend it with cold cuts, aged sheep and goat cheeses, game meats, and red meats.

Wines made with a lot of love to have a color, nose, and palate capable of pleasing and enchanting less experienced people but with that desire to share a glass of wine in the company of friends. And wines capable of enchanting the most experienced for specific consumption moments. What moves Almázcara Majara is that search for friendship and sharing unforgettable moments, and they could not allow the younger generations to miss it. They want to share the secret of happiness, they have never been selfish.
El Bierzo D.O. (Denomination of Origin)
The Bierzo Region is located in the northwest of the province of León, in the heart of the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, and covers an area of 2,954.28 square kilometers, representing 18% of the provincial surface area. Geographically, it borders the provinces of Ourense, Lugo, and Asturias, and is a communication axis between Galicia, León, and Asturias. It has a characteristic Mediterranean microclimate, with milder temperatures than the neighboring areas, and its low altitude generally prevents late frosts, which is quite favorable for the harvest, which usually starts a month earlier than in the rest of Castilla y La Rioja.
Extreme temperatures occur in winter and summer, with an average of 12.3ºC, registering average minimum temperatures of 3.6º in cold months and maximum temperatures of 23.6º in the hottest months.
Precipitation amounts to around 721 mm in an average year. The average annual sunshine is estimated at 2,100 to 2,200 hours of sunlight throughout the year.
In El Bierzo, the vineyard is mainly oriented on wet brown earth soils, slightly acidic and therefore lacking in carbonates, characteristic of humid climates.
The acidity level ranges from 4 to 8.5; in the valleys, values above 6 predominate.
The determining quality factors are found on the low inclination terraces where the vines are located very close to the rivers or on semi-terraced slopes, or in vineyards with pronounced inclinations and altitudes between 450 and 1,000 meters.
Grape Varieties
El Bierzo is a fertile land where different grape varieties are produced, all of them adapted to the characteristics of the soil and climate. The wines made under the Designation of Origin must be made exclusively with the following varieties: Mencía, Garnacha tintorera, Godello, Doña Blanca, and Palomino.
Mencía

Main red variety of El Bierzo and represents 74.5% of the grapes grown in the production
