The Attis Caíño Tinto Red Wine from Bodega y Viñedos Attis presents us with this wine from the D.O. Rías Baixas, made from 100% Caíño Tinto grape variety.
All the red single varietals from the winery follow the same production philosophy, seeking to transport those who taste them to the most Atlantic Galicia, a rich and diverse land like its almost forgotten and abandoned red varieties in a remote white land. Wines with very good acidity that have completely different personalities thanks to their different varietal expressions.
The Attis Caíño Tinto is made with the grape from the Rías Baixas that gives it its name, one of the indigenous varieties with the greatest potential.
Production: Manual harvest in perforated 15 kg boxes. Manual selection upon entry to the winery. Complete destemming. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in open 500-liter barrels. Total maceration for 15 days with 2 pump-overs each day. Manual vertical press. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels. Clarification with egg whites and seawater. Filtration.
Vineyard: Trellised (traditional pergola) with 800 vines/ha. Granitic Entisols soils with sandy-clayey character. Dominant Southwest orientation. Altitude of 100 meters.
From Val do Salnés, in the heart of Rías Baixas, Bodega Attis creates authentic, artisanal, and Atlantic wines.
Behind the brand is the winemaking project of the Fariña brothers, Robustiano and Baldomero, who, together with Jean François Hebrard, have set out to make different wines, paying attention to their variety, plot, or production, highlighting every nuance and aroma that the climate (humid and mild temperatures), terroir (predominantly granitic), and, of course, the Atlantic (high salinity of the wines) give them.
Respecting the characteristics of the indigenous varieties used, Attis' identity is transparently reflected in each of its wines: an identity in which tradition, effort, patience, and the know-how inherited from previous generations are the foundation.
