The Vino Tinto Finca La Montesa, produced by the prestigious Bodegas Palacios Remondo, represents the historical richness and oenological innovation of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. This wine, which will be released in May 2024, is the result of a careful winemaking process that pays homage to the historical prominence of garnacha in the landscapes of Monte Yerga.

Coming from the vineyards of La Montesa, this wine is nourished by the Valtomelloso, Valfrio, and Valviejo areas, located in the municipality of Alfaro, within Rioja Oriental.

  • Soils: Terroirs formed by quaternary carbonate sedimentation, with a varied composition including volcanic rock, quartz, sandstone, as well as clayey-iron-colluvium, silt, and sand. These soils have a petrocalcic horizon that contributes freshness and mineral richness to the wine.
  • Topography and orientation: A gentle slope of 10% on the slopes of Monte Yerga, with an east-southeast orientation that allows for excellent sun exposure.
  • Altitude: 550 meters above sea level.
  • Climate: Continental Mediterranean with Atlantic influences, characterized by extreme differences between winter and summer.
  • Rainfall: 361 mm per year, with an average of 15 cm of snow.
