Ron Zacapa XO contains a blend of rums aged from 6 to 25 years, ultimately resting in French oak barrels that have previously held cognac. It has a balance and a perfect combination of sweetness, spices, and fruits.
A delight for connoisseurs. The supreme work of expression of the master rum maker's art. One of the secrets to the great taste of this rum is its aging in Guatemala at over 2,000 meters above sea level. One of its peculiarities in its production is that only the juice obtained in the first pressing of the sugar cane is used, making it an even more premium product.
Appearance: Ron Zacapa XO has a mahogany color with a reddish hue.
Nose: It is very open with an abundance of aromas that seem to evolve with each sip. A superb balance of mature toasted oak, burnt caramel, toasted nuts, marzipan, and orange peel. With a delicate floral note of honeysuckle in the background.
Pallet: On the palate, it has a complete and balanced balance of sweetness, fruit, spices, and liqueurs enhanced by the finish in French oak barrels that previously held Cognac. With a long, smooth, and sweet finish with heavy notes of dark chocolate with cherries and intense flavors of dried fruits such as sultanas, dates, and plums. Sweet oak and clove, vanilla and cinnamon, and light notes of dried mango and raspberries, with a hint of ginger to finish.
This rum is recommended to be enjoyed neat in a lowball glass, although it can also be enjoyed on the rocks, but it is best enjoyed in a glass with a heavy base.
