Smuel Smith Stingo was created in 2009 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the brewery. It is aged for a year in the oldest oak barrels of the brewery, some of which are over 100 years old. Samuel Smith still maintains the cooperage craft in its facilities, where two expert coopers work full-time manufacturing and repairing the barrels used to serve Samuel Smith beers in the brewery's pubs in the Yorkshire area.
