Spirulina (Spirulina maxima, Spirulina platensis) is an algae with a high percentage of protein (65 to 70%), all essential amino acids and nine non-essential ones; minerals such as potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, iron, and phosphorus; all B complex vitamins, vitamin E, complex sugars, carotenoids, enzymes, and essential fatty acids. It is recommended for restrictive diets, anemia, vegetarian diets (due to its B12 content), convalescence, old age, children, etc.
