Tarsus La Despistada is a white wine that belongs to the D.O. Ribera del Duero and is made from 100% Albillo Mayor grapes by the Tarsus winery.
The Albillo Mayor variety is one of the white varieties par excellence of the appellation of origin and for the last two years it has been allowed to be produced with it.
Due to the means at Tarsus, it has been produced as if it were a red grape. The grapes were vatted and cold macerated for 24 hours, after which time the must was bled into the tank, and the rest of the grapes were pressed by mixing the must from the bleeding and the must from the press in the same tank.
Once fermentation had begun, part of the must was transferred to two 500-litre barrels, in which the alcoholic fermentation was completed.
the alcoholic fermentation, the rest has fermented in the stainless steel tank. Once the fermentation was finished, the wine was aged in 500 litre barrels and in concrete tanks for 6 months.
Pale yellow colour with greenish rim.
It has aromas of stone fruit (plum), white fruit (pear) and citrus, with slight herbal nuances and mineral character.
In the mouth it is a full-bodied, tasty, agile and fresh wine. The wood is very well integrated, allowing the variety to express itself. It is a persistent wine with a long finish. We can highlight that it has a great presence of terroir provided by the old vineyards from which this grape comes from.
