More information

Tarsus Terno is a red wine produced by Bodegas Tarsus with Tinta Fina grapes.

The wine presented below is an authentic wine jewel, made from 100% Tinta Fina grapes, carefully selected from plots 19, 20 and 21 of the Tarsus Estate. These plots, located in privileged surroundings, enjoy a North-South orientation that allows the vines to receive the perfect amount of sunlight throughout the day. In addition, the average age of these vines is 30 years, which gives the grapes exceptional richness and complexity.

The terroir of this estate is truly exceptional, with a type of chalky clay soil that gives the wine an elegant minerality and unique structure. The roots of the vines sink into this soil, extracting the necessary nutrients and minerals to produce a wine of exceptional quality.

The ageing of this wine is another highlight of the winemaking process. For 16 months, the wine rests in new French oak barrels. This choice of oak contributes subtle notes of vanilla, toast and spices that integrate harmoniously with the fruity character of the Tinta Fina. French oak, known for its elegance and finesse, perfectly complements the typicity of the variety.

After barrel ageing, the wine undergoes an additional period of bottle ageing, allowing the flavours and aromas to integrate further and the wine to reach its fullness. This maturation process in the bottle ensures that, when you uncork a bottle of this wine, you can appreciate all the complexity and elegance that has developed throughout its production.

Tarsus Terno Tasting Notes

Its sight is an invitation to anticipation, with an intense and powerful colour that resembles a bright cherry red, with a purple heart as dark as night. The glass shows a dense and abundant tear that indicates the concentration and richness of this wine.

Bringing the glass to the nose reveals a complex symphony of aromas that testify to its careful winemaking. The essence of flowers and fresh fruit intertwine with roasted notes that evoke cocoa and sandalwood. Hints of blackberries, blueberries, violets and liquorice transport us to the ageing and resting in wood. Each inhalation arouses expectation and curiosity, inviting us to explore the character of this wine in more depth.

When tasted, the wine is impetuous and robust on the palate. Its forwardness is powerful and complex, revealing layers of flavours that unfold with intensity. The presence of ripe grapes is unmistakable, providing a deep, concentrated flavour. The tannins, though present, are round and noble, adding structure and elegance to the whole. The persistence of the flavours is remarkable, leaving a long sensation on the palate that invites you to enjoy each sip with calm and appreciation.
