Tokaj Oremus Aszú 3 Puttonyos
Tokaj Oremus Aszú 3 Puttonyos is among the most famous and valued sweet wines in the world. The high quality of the grapes from which it is made, affected by botrytis (a fungus also known as noble rot), as well as its complex elaboration and long aging in wood and bottle in deep subway caves, lead us towards an indescribable pleasure. The grape berry in noble rot loses its water content and the sugar becomes more concentrated than the berry acids. At the same time, botrytis creates a fantastic aromatic potential typical of honey, exotic fruits, reminiscent of linden, acacia, apricot and quince. It is also worth noting its longevity, since a Tokaj Oremus Aszú 3 Puttonyos of exceptional vintage can withstand more than a hundred years in bottle without losing its properties. The type of Aszú wine is determined by the number of puttonyos (25 kg baskets of botrytised grapes or Aszú used for its production for each barrel of must. Adding 3 to 6 puttonyos results in a more or less sweet wine. The more puttonyos, the sweeter the Aszú. This Oremus Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos wine, aged 3 years in traditional Hungarian barrels plus 2 years in bottle in deep volcanic tuff caves, has a beautiful deep gold color with golden reflections. The nose shows fruity aromas of pineapple, peach, apple and aging notes. The palate is dense, glyceric with toast, pastry and jammy notes. A lovely long finish.
