The vineyards of the estate have witnessed various civilizations that populated Spain.
The estate was part, historically, of the now disappeared village of Peñalba. The village arose during the Reconquest on the south bank of the Duero River, opposite side of the Christian lands.
The estate has come to belong to the Dukes of Alba, subsequently passed through several hands over the centuries, until it currently belongs to the Zarzuela family.
The family, betting on the area and its rural environment, and believing in the possibilities of the estate and vineyards, brings to the wine market wines of quality.
