SOUTHERN COMFORT WHISKY MINIATURE 5CL
In 1874, M.W. Heron created Southern Comfort in his bar on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
In his quest to expand his business in 1889, he opened a new bar on Beale Street in Memphis and began bottling Southern Comfort.
The original label was designed by Heron and featured the phrase: "It's not genuine, but it's mine."
In 1904, Southern Comfort won the gold medal for quality and taste at the St. Louis World's Fair. M.W.
Heron opened a new bar in St. Louis and created the "St. Louis Cocktail," a drink made with Southern Comfort and a lemon mix that was served with the warning: "Only two per customer."
After Prohibition, the production of the drink resumed and a new label featuring a lithograph of a Southern plantation on the banks of the Mississippi was introduced.
In 1939, as a tribute to the movie "Gone with the Wind," Southern Comfort introduced the "Scarlet O'Hara" cocktail, a drink made with cherry juice and garnished with a lime. It is one of the preferred mixes made with Southern Comfort.
