White Wine Lagar d’Amprius Gewürztraminer, produced by Bodega Lagar d’Amprius within the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Vino Bajo Aragón. This 100% Gewürztraminer monovarietal reflects the soul of Matarraña, a region privileged for its climate, terroir, and meticulous viticulture.
Located at 600 meters above sea level, the vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean microclimate, protected from humid winds by the mountains of Beceite, yet close to the sea. This combination offers ideal conditions for slow and balanced ripening. The clayey and mineral soils force the vine to search deep for water and nutrients, resulting in grapes of great concentration and expression.
Production is strictly limited to 1.5 kg per vine, ensuring that each cluster concentrates the best of the plant. All vines belong to the winery itself, allowing for absolute control of the vineyard, from plant care to harvest.
Nighttime harvesting preserves the grape's freshness. During transportation, dry ice is used to prevent oxidation and maintain a low temperature. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed and gently crushed, then subjected to a skin maceration at 8ºC for 12 hours to extract the most delicate aromatic compounds.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 12 days at controlled temperature (14–16 °C). After this stage, the wine remains minimum 12 months on its lees, with weekly batonnages that provide volume, creaminess, and complexity. Subsequently, it is carefully clarified and filtered before undergoing bottle aging of at least another 12 months, where the wine evolves favorably.
The result is an elegant, aromatic white wine with great aging potential, distinguished by its floral notes, exotic touches, white fruit, and a spicy background characteristic of Gewürztraminer.
If you want to buy white wine with personality and a personal touch, Lagar d’Amprius Gewürztraminer is an oenological gem that should not be missing from your cellar. For more information, contact our online sommelier and receive advice without obligation.
