Ardbeg 5 Years is one of the most notable single malts distilled in the famous region of Islay, Scotland. Produced in a distillery located by the sea, this whisky stands out for its remarkable turbidity and complexity of flavors. Ardbeg is not only famous for its smoky and spicy flavor profile but also has a fascinating history: it was the first whisky to travel to space, experimenting with extraterrestrial aging on the International Space Station in 2011. Two pot stills are used in its production, generating one million liters of alcohol annually, exclusively available as single malt. This whisky is primarily aged in bourbon barrels, with a small portion in sherry casks, giving it a rich array of nuances.
