Artazu Pasos De San Martin Tinto is a red wine made from 100% Garnacha, sourced from the vineyards of San Martín de Unx, Navarra. With 75cl of content, this wine authentically represents the rich viticultural heritage of the region. The vineyards, situated at over 600 meters altitude, feature bush-trained vines that grow in clay-calcareous soils, giving the grapes a unique and distinctive profile. The year 2016 was special for the region, with a mild winter and a rainy spring favoring grape growth. The hand harvest was done in 15 kg boxes, ensuring a precise selection of the best bunches. The vinification takes place in open tanks, where the grapes are cold macerated for 48 hours, followed by a fermentation of 10 to 12 days, with daily foot treading. After fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in 500-liter French oak barrels. This process enhances the wine's complexity and adds exceptional flavor depth. Bottling took place in July 2019, promising evolution over the years.
