The grapes come from the La Asperilla estate, located in the municipality of Peñafiel at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. Calcareous clay predominates with variable proportions of sand. The grapes were planted on trellises in 1994.
Bodegas Tionio, from Pesquera de Duero, seeks the best of each vintage with wines made in Ribera del Duero and Rueda. For the Romans, "Tionio wine" meant "the purest", and this is the essence and purpose of the winery: purity. Tionio is a unique wine project with an unusually low yield that requires more selection to achieve the wine's integrity.
