Hacienda López de Haro San Vicente de la Sonsierra was created with the aim of recovering the authentic essence of Rioja, of its fine wines, of the classics that made this region great because they represented elegance.
The great qualities of Rioja's long history are combined with the personality of the highest quality grapes from its old vineyards to create a true modern classic.
For the location of the winery, they chose the historic town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, situated in the heart of the DOCa Rioja, with the Cantabrian Mountains to the north and the Ebro River to the south. The microclimate and the clay-limestone soils of the area create ideal conditions for vines, especially Tempranillo.
Appearance: Intense cherry colour with garnet rim, very lively and bright.
Nose: Aromas of black fruits predominate, complemented with balsamic and mineral notes that leave a strong impression. It is a very intense and complex nose with hawthorn, forest and other sweetness from the barrel ageing.
Palate: Fresh, ample and persistent. The fullness of the Tempranillo variety combines with the acidity and tension of the Mazuelo. A wine of great complexity and nuance, the result of a precise combination of the mosaic of old vines in the village of San Vicente.
