Krug Champagne from the 174th edition, made with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It blends more than 120 wines from different vintages and matures for at least seven years on the lees. With fine bubbles and a creamy texture, it offers notes of white flowers, toasted nuts, brioche and citrus.
Krug Grande Cuvée Brut, 174th Edition, is a champagne made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The Maison Krug, founded in Reims in 1843, brings together more than 120 wines from more than 10 different vintages in this cuvée. Each parcel is vinified separately in small old 205-litre oak barrels; this capacity refers to the barrels, not the bottle contents. The wine then rests for at least seven years on its lees in underground cellars before disgorgement. It has an intense golden hue, fine bubbles and notes of white flowers, toasted almonds, hazelnuts, brioche and citrus. On the palate it is broad and creamy, with ripe apple, peach and sweet spices. Each bottle carries the Krug iD on the back label, a six-digit code to look up its composition and history. Serve between 9 and 12 °C in a wide-bowled champagne glass or white wine glass, avoiding the narrow flute. It is suggested with oysters, Beluga caviar, acorn-fed Iberian ham, aged Comté, sea urchin or dishes with white truffle and white meats with creamy sauces.
