Tokyo Gomez Rojo La Malpagada is a white wine made from Albillo Mayor with DO Ribera del Duero by the Casa Rojo winery, fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged with its sediments in 225-litre French oak barrels. A 15% of the total batch undergoes fermentation in barrels, with direct contact of the skins. The grapes come from old, small vineyards scattered in the provinces of Soria and Burgos. These vineyards produce berries of exceptional quality and a wide variety of sensory characteristics in their wines. When combined, they result in a complex and fascinating wine for cellaring.
This is a wine with an attractive golden hue, which reflects its ageing in barrels and exhibits its body and texture when you look at it. Its bouquet is sophisticated and nuanced, with initial notes of stone fruits, especially peach, as well as more complex aromas reminiscent of bakery, brioche and sweet hints of honey, evoking fermentation and evolutionary processes. On the palate, it is distinguished by its creamy texture and food-friendly character, with great corpulence but with softened tannins thanks to the grape variety used and the 12-month period in barrel.
