North Limit is a wine that explores the westernmost area of Rioja through two native but rare varieties, which grow in an extreme climate with influences of Atlantic freshness, Maturana Blanca and Tempranillo Blanco. The landscape is formed by the Obarenes Mountains and the Oja and Tirón rivers. This place is the last to be harvested in Rioja. Rodolfo Bastida is the conductor of the winery. He is in charge of transmitting the style and unique personality of Ramón Bilbao to our wines, and with North Limit, this personality is reflected in a wine as unusual as it is special.
Production and Aging
For the production of North Limit, cold maceration is carried out in the white maturana, to enhance the primary aromas and tannins of the variety. Fermentation takes place in concrete and aging on fine lees in: concrete, amphora, and 600l barrel. Blending and aging take place in 225l French barrel for 6 months, plus 12 months in the bottle.
