Límite Sur de Ramón Bilbao is a wine that comes from an unknown place in the Sierra de Yerga, where the altitude tempers the heat of summer and the scourge of Cierzo and Levante is felt, with a clear Mediterranean influence. Aromatic shrubs such as rosemary and thyme predominate.
Límite Sur de Ramón Bilbao is a wine that comes from an unknown location in the Sierra de Yerga, where the altitude mitigates the summer heat and the Cierzo and Levante winds can be felt, with a clear Mediterranean influence. Aromatic shrubs such as rosemary and thyme are predominant.
The landscape corresponds to the highest part of the eastern end of La Rioja, with a distinct Mediterranean influence. Thyme, rosemary, holm oak, etc.
Rodolfo Bastida, Technical Director and Winemaker of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, has managed to convey the unique style and personality of Ramón Bilbao into a unique wine that explores new areas of Rioja.
The production of Límite Sur begins with a pre-fermentative maceration to preserve floral aromas and extract color. Fermentation takes place in concrete (with a percentage of stems to add freshness and tannin) at 24ºC. The aging occurs in various materials (amphorae, 600L barrels, and concrete). It is blended and aged in French oak barrels of 225L for 10 months.
It stands out for its ruby color, with high intensity, clean, bright, and with noticeable legs. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with notes of fresh red fruit, flowers, pink pepper, and hints of underbrush. On the palate, it is fresh, with good acidity and gentle tannins. A harmonious, balanced wine with a long finish.
