Macho Man is a remarkable red wine made from Monastrell grapes in the I.G.P. Tierra de Murcia, specifically in the beautiful area of La Raja. This unique region, located between the mountains of El Carche and La Pila, is characterized by its sparse, calcareous soils and an extremely arid climate that decisively influences the characteristics of the harvest. The cultivation of Monastrell is done traditionally, with 3x2 or 3x3 frameworks, using a dry-farming system. The harvest is done manually, ensuring that only the best grapes are selected, with an approximate yield of 2,000 kilograms per hectare.
The winemaking process is meticulous; fermentation occurs in inverted conical stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 7,000 liters, at a controlled temperature of 25 °C. Part of the wine also ferments in 11,000-liter French oak foudres, adding complexity to the wine's profile. This wine ages for six months in French oak barrels, both first and second year, before being refined in 800-liter Italian clay amphorae. This aging process highlights the flavors and primary aromas of the Monastrell variety, creating a harmonious and characterful wine. Macho Man is an authentic representation of the Murcian terroir and offers a tasting experience that will not disappoint.
