Matsu El Viejo is a distinguished red wine from the D.O. TORO, crafted by the renowned Bodega Matsu. This unique wine originates from selected century-old vineyards, with extremely limited production cultivated under strict biodynamic techniques. The harvest is done manually in the first half of October, ensuring quality and care. Fermentation and maceration occur over three weeks in concrete tanks. Following this, malolactic fermentation happens in new French oak barrels, along with 16 months of aging. The wine presents a deep cherry color with violet hues and intense aromas of ripe black fruits integrating perfectly with toasty and spicy notes. On the palate, Matsu El Viejo is full-bodied and meaty, with very mature tannins and a long, persistent aftertaste.
