The Remelluri Reserva Magnum represents one of the pinnacles in the history of the DOCa Rioja, having reached its fullness thanks to the Magnum format.
Produced by the mythical Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri, under the vision of Telmo Rodríguez, this red wine is a liquid testimony to the exceptional terroir of Labastida, in Rioja Alavesa. The vineyards, cultivated under ecological and biodynamic principles at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño, benefit from a unique microclimate that protects the vines from cold northern winds, allowing for a slow and perfect ripening of the Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano grapes. In this Magnum format, the evolution of the wine slows down, allowing for a more deliberate micro-oxygenation that preserves freshness and multiplies aromatic complexity. After fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine aged for more than 20 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a prolonged rest in the bottle in the winery's cellars.
Upon uncorking this Remelluri Reserva Magnum, we find a cherry-red wine with tile-colored rims that denote its noble aging. On the nose, it unfolds a fascinating range of ripe black fruits, plums, balsamic notes, pipe tobacco, fine leather, and subtle mineral and truffle touches. On the palate, it is pure silk: elegant, structured, with an acidity that promises many more years of life and a long, persistent finish that leaves memories of sweet spices and undergrowth. It is an essential oenological jewel for collectors, lovers of the great classic Rioja wines, and to preside over the most exclusive tables at memorable celebrations. Its aging potential is extraordinary, making it a safe investment both for personal enjoyment and for haute cuisine.
