Casamigos, the creation of George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Michael Meldman, distinguishes itself as a premium tequila made in limited series exclusively with blue agave. The inspiration for the name Casamigos came from the numerous evenings Clooney and Gerber enjoyed together at their Mexican residences.
This tequila was conceived from the desire of both for a tequila that stood out in both flavor and smoothness, that could be tasted cleanly, without the addition of salt or lemon. They dedicated years to developing Casamigos alongside an expert distiller in Jalisco, Mexico, conducting countless blind tastings of various blends until they found the one that met their expectations. The blue agaves used in the production of Casamigos are handpicked, cooked in traditional brick ovens for seventy-two hours, and then fermented for an approximate period of eighty hours.
Following its distillation, the tequila rests for two months in stainless steel tanks. On the other hand, Blanco also has an aging period of two months. Casamigos is presented as an ideal tequila for personal enjoyment and to share in the company of friends and family. It has an alcoholic content of 40%.
