The Glenrothes Single Vintage 1976 is a rare whisky made from 13 casks from the same year, a standout example of the art of distillation. It originated on February 26, 1976, when several liters were distilled at the Glenrothes distillery. These liters were allocated to casks, where they matured for four decades, developing complex nuances and a unique character. In November 2015, it was decided to bottle the contents of these casks after a careful pairing process. Finally, on February 26, 2016, coinciding with its 40th anniversary, it was released to the market. This Single Vintage is bottled at an ABV of 42.8%, achieved from a blend of the different strengths obtained from each cask. On the nose, notes of coconut and tropical fruits can be appreciated, while on the palate, cedarwood, cinnamon, nutmeg, dry spices, and a hint of vanilla stand out, offering a rich and immersive sensory experience.
